Step 7: Provide necessary approval to the application to use your SMS.

Step 8: UIDAI will send an OTP to your registered mobile number during the process.

Step 9: You are not required to enter the OTP as this application automatically detects the SMS sent from UIDAI and enters the OTP in the app itself.

How to Delete profile from mAadhaar App for PC/Android?

If the Aadhar card holder upgrades his mobile phone or changes the mobile connection, you should delete the Aadhar profile from your mobile phone. Suppose you are giving this mobile phone of yours to any other person, then as a precaution. In that case, you must uninstall the mAadhaar App for Android installed in that mobile phone before giving/selling it to another person.

In the mobile phone in which you are using MAadhaar, your profile will be automatically deleted when you take out the SIM of the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Follow the below-given steps to delete your profile in the mAadhaar app.

How to Lock/Unlock biometrics with the mAadhaar App for PC/Android?

UIDAI has provided a facility to Aadhar cardholders to lock/unlock biometrics data from the mAadhaar App for PC/Android App. You can also lock/unlock the biometrics data of your Aadhar card through the official website of UIDAI. To avail of this facility, your mobile number must be linked with Aadhaar.

Follow the steps below to lock or unlock Aadhaar biometrics data using the mAadhaar App for PC/Android.

Step 1: First of all, open the mAadhaar App for PC/Android on your Smartphone or PC.

Step 2: Enter your password and log in to the mAadhaar app.

Step 3: Click on your profile and open it.

Step 4: Click on the 3 dots on the top-right corner of the application’s interface.

Step 5: Click on “Biometric Settings” from the submenu. After that, tick on the option “Enable Biometric Lock.”

Step 6: A disclaimer will appear on the screen that the biometrics can still be used for the next six hours.

Step 7: Click on “OK.” A one-time password will be received on your registered mobile number.

Step 8: The Aam Aadhar application will automatically detect the one-time password received from UIDAI.

Step 9: Verify the OTP to lock or unlock the Aadhaar biometric data.

Step 10: Once the OTP is verified, your biometrics will be locked immediately.

How to Temporarily Lock Biometric Data with the mAadhaar App for PC/Android?

You can also temporarily lock or unlock your Aadhaar biometric data with the mAadhaar App for PC/Android. Follow the steps given below to lock Aadhaar biometric data temporarily.

Step 1: Open the mAadhaar application on mobile in the phone. 

Step 2: Login using the password. Click on the 3 dots on the top right and click on the link “Biometric Settings.”

Step 3: You will get a message, “Your biometrics will be temporarily unlocked.” Click on the button “Yes.”

Step 4: On clicking the “Yes” button, your biometrics will be unlocked for 10 minutes.

Step 5: If you want to deactivate the biometric lock, you can deactivate the 5 metric people from the official website of UIDAI.

How to use the TOTP option in the mAadhaar App for PC/Android?

It is necessary to verify the OTP to get the benefit of Aadhaar services. But it is often seen that people cannot receive OTP due to network failure while availing themselves of various types of Aadhaar services. Due to which they are not able to get the benefit of Aadhaar services.

UIDAI has introduced time-based OTP to solve this problem, which is valid for 30 seconds only. It is known as TOTP. Your mobile phone must have an internet connection to avail of this service. Follow the steps given below to use TOTP through the mAadhaar App for PC/Android.

Step 1: First of all, open the mAadhaar app on your mobile phone and log in to the mAadhaar App for PC/Android with the help of a password.

Step 2: Select and open your profile from the mAadhaar app.

Step 3: Select the “Show TOTP” option from the bottom of the mAadhaar application.

Step 4: You will see a 6 digit TOTP (timed one-time password).

Step 5: This password is valid for 30 seconds, indicating that a clock will be shown running continuously for 30 seconds.

Step 6: As soon as 30 seconds are over, the system instantly changes the TOTP.

Step 7: Your name and Aadhaar number may also be written at the bottom of the TOTP.
