According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Adani’s net worth is currently $132 billion, while Ambani’s net worth is $90 billion. In total, the net worth of both of them sits at $222 billion. Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, is number three on the list of the world’s wealthiest people. Ambani, the chairman of the country’s most valuable Reliance Industries, is at number nine on this list.

The Football World Cup in Qatar is the costliest sporting event ever. It began on 20 November with a match between hosts Qatar and Ecuador. The final game will be held on 18 December. A total of 32 teams are participating in it.

Qatar hosted the Football World Cup in 2010; since then, the country has poured in money to make the event a success. Six new stadiums have been built, while two old stadiums have been renovated.

According to American sports finance consultancy Front Office Sports, Qatar has spent $210 billion building infrastructure for the World Cup. This includes the development of airports, roads, innovative hubs, hotels, and other things.

In Doha alone, $15 billion was spent on building The Pearl, a complex for players to stay in, while $36 billion was spent on the Doha Metro. According to media reports, Qatar spent $500 million weekly for several years on infrastructure development.

Earlier, the Football World Cup was held in Russia in 2018. A total of $ 11.6 billion was spent on it. Before that, $15 billion was spent in Brazil in 2014 and $3.6 billion in South Africa in 2010. Before that, the 2006 Football World Cup in Germany cost $4.3 billion, the 2002 event in Japan cost $7 billion, France $2.3 billion in 1998, and the US $500 million in 1994.
